Easy dessert for quarantine cooking
When you're feeding the crowd, you're probably looking for quick, simple recipes. WRAL at Home has an idea for you to try this weekend. Brian Shrader checked in with his Local Dish cooking partner Lisa Prince for an easy dessert -- using fresh North Carolina strawberries. -

Local Dish: Andouille & Pulled Pork Pozole Verde
Brian Shrader and Ag Department's Lisa Prince show us some great dinner ideas using North Carolina foods. This week, a taste of Mexico with NC pork! With Avocado oil, green chilies, garlic, onion, andouille sausage and pulled pork, chicken stock, chick peas, salsa verde and recaito, it's a flavorful dish bursting with zesty spices. Add a little cilantro-red pepper powder, cumin, garlic powder, white pepper and even pork rinds for a little crunch! -

We have another award-winning recipe from the North Carolina State Fair! This recipe comes from Gayle Braley of Apex -- who's using pecans for breakfast! With zucchini, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, chopped NC pecans and a warm, sweet pecan glaze, this breakfast bread is like having dessert to start your day! -
Local Dish: Buckeye Sundae
Ag Department's Lisa Prince remembered Brian Shrader's birthday -- surprising him with a sweet way to use sweet potatoes! Sweet potatoes, cream of coconut, peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and all spice combined to make a unique sundae. Drizzle with hot fudge and top with salty pretzels. -

Each year, the North Carolina State Fair has special cooking contests. This month we're featuring some of the blue-ribbon winners from last year. Brian Shrader and Lisa Prince are starting with a delicious dessert. -
